Transform Your Backyard with Fence Lighting
Your fence defines the boundary of your outdoor living space, but after dark it disappears into the shadows, making your backyard feel smaller, darker, and less inviting. Fence lighting changes everything. Illuminated fence posts create a soft perimeter glow that defines your space and draws the eye outward. Downlights mounted on fence tops cast pools of light along the fence line, perfect for gardens or walkways below. String lights running along fence tops create instant ambiance for entertaining. However you choose to light your fence, the result is a backyard that feels larger, more welcoming, and usable well into the evening hours.

Different fence materials work best with different lighting approaches. Here’s what we recommend for each type.
Wood Fences
Pair beautifully with traditional post cap lights in copper or bronze finishes.
Natural material contrasts nicely with warm, glowing fixtures.
Vinyl Fences
Hollow posts conceal wiring for a cleaner low-voltage installation.
White vinyl looks great with white or black fixtures.
Metal & Aluminum
May require adapter brackets for post caps, or consider rail-mounted options instead.
Sleek fixtures match the modern aesthetic.
Chain Link
String lights woven through mesh, or post lights at corner and gate posts.
Transforms a basic fence into a charming feature.
We have experience lighting all fence types and can recommend the best approach for your specific material, style, and goals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are the lights replaceable?
Can the lights provide true warm white?
How do payments work?
How much electricity does it use?
Is it designed for extreme temperatures?
Yes! Each light and connection has an IP 68 Waterproof rating and can operate at -40° F to 130°+F. All connections and wires are UV rated and will be able to last if ever exposed to long periods of sunlight (which they will not be as they are installed under the roofline). The track is made out of aluminum which is durable and won’t rust or degrade–the same material your gutters are made from.
What is the warranty?
Astoria Lighting Co provides a Lifetime Warranty on all permanent holiday light bulbs included in your system. Additionally, we offer a 10-year “bumper-to-bumper” warranty on all installed parts, plus a 3-year service warranty on labor.
What is the cost per foot?
At Astoria Lighting Co, we install industry-leading permanent lighting systems designed for long-lasting performance and outstanding value. We offer brighter LED lights, true warm-white capabilities, a closed track system, individually addressable lights, and many other important features that our competitors do not offer. It is priced according to how much linear feet you want installed on your home, plus a Wi-Fi controller and power supply system, rather than on the square footage of the home, and the length of rooflines can vary dramatically for houses of similar size. Because of this, we have to measure your roofline in order to give you an accurate quote.
However, as a guide, we typically run in the $20 to $28 dollar per linear foot range—plus $250-450 for controllers and power supplies–depending on the time of the year, as we frequently offer pricing promotions during the Spring and Summer months to encourage our customers to get their systems installed outside of the busy fall holiday season. Most of our jobs fall into the $2500 to $5500 range—sold, installed, and warrantied, with all taxes and fees included—to put lighting where customers would typically hang their Christmas lights. We offer great payment options that allow you to spread out the cost over time, resulting in significant savings versus hanging traditional Christmas lights, installing pot or can lighting, or otherwise improving the look of your home.

Can you see the lights from the street?
Are the lights dimmable?

Our LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours. It is a robust, outdoor rated LED lighting system that you can expect to last for years and years! We expect 10-20 years depending on usage–one installation, one investment, and many, many years with all of your lighting needs met!
